Bath - City Information System

In 2016 Bath and North East Somerset Council appointed Streetwise to undertake consultancy project to report on the Bath City Information Scheme and produce recommendations for improvements. The existing system had been funded through the EU CIVITAS programme and had been installed for three years in which time it won awards, but had also received criticism, in particular from the business community. The network piloted an innovative and high quality approach to providing visitor and resident wayfinding information that integrated with Bath's outstanding World Heritage Environment.

The project commenced with a comprehensive review of the existing on-street network. Following this Streetwise facilitated a series of of focus groups drawn from local people, retailers, visitor attractions and tourists to identify current opinion and what was required to meet the needs of this major tourist city.

A full report on our findings was then produced and submitted to the Council. We were pleased to learn that our recommendations were to be adopted in full and subsequently we were commissioned to develop and install a number of prototype units.
